Description
Very nice 50 or60 year old Gibson Classical Guitar
Spruce Top with Mahogany back and sides.
Mahogany Neck with strip of ebony down the middle.
Rosewood Fretboard.19 Frets.
Purfled top Bound top and bottom.
Abalone on bridge.
Action – Strings are 1/8″ off twelfth fret.
Neck joint to body is solid tight and untouched.
Bridge has had some work but is tight supporting full tuning with D’Addario Pro-Arte Normal Tension strings.
Has rather heavy weather checking and various dings consistent with age.
Original hard case, kind of battered with replaced handle, nice original lining. Still strong and functional.
Neck is 2 1/8″ at the nut.
Body is sound – no buzzing. There is still room on the bridge to drop the action a bit.
Serial Number on label is 679960 but on the back of the head it is 679980. I’m going with the on on the head.
